After more than 30 years International Designers Network adapts to actuality and goes GREEN
The International Designers Network (IDN) has been founded by Claudia Carillon together with Lucia Carpio and Olivia Hui more than 30 years ago as an association promoting designers in order to prove their professionalism and the importance of communication within the industry. IDN was launched with a FREE database to provide designers, designer groups and associations the opportunity to be in direct contact with manufacturers from around the world in order to assure a worldwide connection. “Design talent should have no boundaries” said Jimmie Lewis former OBE, IAF Director, “and this is a great opportunity for manufacturers and the world of fashion generally to maximize the use of creativity skills wherever they exist. It is a logical extension of the work we have already done to help promote designers. »
We all have to recognize that many designers lack the financial resources to present their talents globally and the manufacturers find it difficult to identify the best designers for their products. They well know that creations must accord with local preferences and cultural habits, and therefore finding designers familiar with these factors can greatly assist opening new markets.
The International Designers Network data base categorizes the specialties and strengths of designers as well as offering information about global and local events, assistance on practical problems like presentation or design protection in the different countries.
After more than 30 years IDN has decided to actualize the website which will now include a magazine with professional news specially dedicated to the designers and their industries, a forum for global contacts. The data base for designers continues but now we also include their producers and manufacturers.
In the last years, tremendous changes have happened and it will be important to learn how to adapt to them.
Travelling becomes more difficult and costs are often too expensive. So, the meetings between garment and brands on one side and producers on the other side have to be modernized.
That’s why we decided to add a new online showroom site

Here producers can present themselves through VIDEOS of their companies and their factories with detailed contact information. This will help them to get in contact with customers all around the world without travelling.
But this does not mean that they should no longer participate in fairs, but they should participate better prepared and with the possibility to make appointments before and around the fairs, as well as direct contacts all over the year.
DESIGNERS will be able to present their collections around the year to professional buyers by showing either detailed pictures of each creation or fashion shows or videos. (Never forget that we live in two-time world: when summer is in one part, winter is in the other one!)
Attention: this site is not dedicated to end consumers but to professional buyers.
In the DATABASE are accepted for free registration: all designers working in the fashion field, including the garment and textile industry, the interior textile design, the lifestyle, the beauty sector and the shop decoration as well as schools, universities, associations, museums and organizations dedicated to the fashion and creative business.
ATTENTION TO ALL DESIGNERS
In order to fully take profit of this database, each designer, who registers, should reply to as much questions in our database as possible. Only a detailed information will give the opportunity for buyers or manufacturers to find the right person for a future collaboration. Just sign up with name and address is not enough and will keep the designer out of the research system.
CONDITION FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS
First of all, please note the fact that ENVIRONMENT, CLEAN MANUFACTURING and CIRCULARITY will be the basic for all business. That’s why INTERNATIONAL DESIGNERS NETWORK GOES GREEN too.
Social Conscience and Commitment In the spirit of the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate responsibility initiative, as well as the International Labor Organization, Euratex instructions and the latest EU Rules have to be respected. The International Designers Network continues to promote ethnic diversity and social economic stability through education and professional information around the globe. IDN has decided to go GREEN and to support all efforts for sustainability and circular developments.
IDN supports programs including the application of child labor legislation protecting children from exploitation, moving them from factories back into schools through www.k-i-d-s.org which had a great success.
SERVICES
While the Database for Designers will continue to be free, the participation in the online showroom requires a participation fee.
In the online showroom 360.internationaldesignersnetwork.com a monthly participation fee is therefore necessary.
Knowing that times are difficult, we offer to all manufacturers, being present with 2 Videos and a detailed contact information a monthly participation fee of 80€ payable once a year. In the first year for the installation of the Videos and the presentation a supplementary fee of 500€ is necessary.
Designers presenting their collection pay a basic fee of 60€ per month. The fees for the installation can be send personally to the designers, because the price of the installation depends of the number and size of the videos, shows or pictures.
In any case these prizes are much less expensive than any participation in a show or renting of an office and still goes around the world.

What can I do at this website?
This website is an international platform for designer, manufactures, students, designer schools. Students looking for a job or manufacturers that would like to employ a designer do find an easy network to get in touch with the appropriate pendant.
Why should I be listed here?
The IDN is a very high-traffic portal that receives thousands of clicks, most of our visitors are looking to hire a designer or company to do work for them. Having your listing here can bring you new clients on a daily basis. Having a link in our directory will send targeted traffic to your site and improve your own sites ranking in search engines.
I am a designer; how do I get listed?
Click the register button at the top of every page. Start by entering your user’s name and password, then fill out the following form. After this procedure your data is stored. Your access will be activated after manual inspection by the site administrators. There is a log-in button at the top of every page (it will only show links if you are already logged-in)
How much does it cost?
IT’S FREE! Fill in your data, and that’s it!
