CV Doris Hartwich
Doris Hartwich and her HARTWICH brand are champions of unconventional menswear.
Her designs have nothing bland or mundane about them – standing out, yet never
attention-seeking. Doris Hartwich has always been enamoured of special fabrics and
materials, of details that only reveal themselves at second glance.
They are a cornerstone of her fashion concept, transforming her menswear into a unique
expression of style that is constantly fresh and individual and strikingly distinct from the mainstream.
Doris Hartwich studied design and worked as a design assistant in Italy before launching her
menswear brand, DORIS HARTWICH, in 1986.
The brand featured a range of product groups, created in collaboration with licensing partners.
Coats, tailored and casual jackets, pants, shirts, knits, shoes, bags, accessories – products bearing
the Doris Hartwich name became highly sought after among her customer target group of
discerning men.
From 1986 to 1996, Doris Hartwich presented her designs at the Trevira Studio and grew her
international reputation.
In the 1990s, she designed corporate fashion for German national rail company Deutsche Bahn
AG and produced collections for numerous other companies while further developing her own
brand.
In 1998, Doris Hartwich and her licensing partner Esquire won the German Leather Goods
Award for their leather accessories collection.
From 1998, her fashion collections were captured in a series of outstanding lookbooks that
became coveted collectors’ items. The lookbooks showcased distinctive, internationally famous
personalities carefully selected by Doris Hartwich to represent her menswear style.
In 2009/10, the DORIS HARTWICH brand became the HARTWICH label.
2015 saw the launch of her own online store, HARTWICH + Friends.
In 2018, Doris Hartwich was awarded the title of Designer of the Year by German fashion
designers’ association VDMD.
Since 2019 she has been a lecturer at Campus M21 University in Munich and Nuremberg, passing
on her comprehensive expertise, while naturally continuing to create and market her own
collections
Doris Hartwich lives and works in Munich.
Short profile
Doris Hartwich has been the epitome of fashion exclusively for men since
1985. It is thanks to her feel for cuts, special fabrics and materials and
sophisticated details that her collections have many stylish friends on the
international stage. For men, HARTWICH is a public declaration of their own
personality. From collection to collection, inspiring, different and special.

I O S O Y by Barbara Weigand
Barbara was born in Wiesbaden in 1965. Her childhood was marked by theatre,
music and art, which her father taught her. Very early, at the age of four, she
enthusiastically started (out) painting, with a preference for the 70s wallpaper
in the kitchen of her parents’ house.
IT WAS CLEAR EARLY ON WHAT SHE WANTED TO BECOME
Actually, her goal was to study art, but it became textile design. She has always
been fascinated by fabric, especially fabric printing. Large floral prints were her
speciality during the ten years of her freelance career from 1991 to 2001.
There she lived out her « art ».
RETHINKING In 2008, she ventured into fashion and founded her label IOSOY.
Making material, form and colour wearable in unusual combinations was her goal and
became her trademark. As a textile designer, Barbara Weigand had long harboured
the desire to create her own fabrics and transform them into individually wearable fashion.
Selected materials are very important to her.
They mean longevity. Longevity is true sustainability, because with a few good
things, you can « put on » a lot. 2019, together with photo artists, she has not only
realised her long-awaited dream, but also created something unique: Wearable Art.
The high-quality prints are rich in colour and very contrasting, creating the feeling
of flowing with the works and becoming part of a whole new way of showing art
through clothing. The highlight, however, are her custom-made ArtxFashion
collections, but also individually tailored wedding and occasion dresses.
Meaning of I O S O Y = I am (Spanish),
as anagram Y O S O I = beautiful clothes (Japanese)
